In partnership with international organizations and governments, the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety helps countries to implement a comprehensive package of activities proven to save lives, which includes supporting countries and cities to strengthen legislation and adopt or improve evidence-based road safety policies.
Our partners, the Global Health Advocacy Incubator, Global Road Safety Partnership, Vital Strategies, and World Health Organization provide support to 15 countries in strengthening legislations to meet international best practices and enable implementation of proven measures.
Our partners’ roles vary and include political engagement, grassroots mobilization, legal analysis, drafting policy and media advocacy.
The Road Safety Grants Program, managed by the Global Road Safety Partnership, supports organizations advocating for the adoption and implementation of evidence-based policies to protect road users in low- and middle-income countries.
The program supports projects to develop and deliver high-impact, evidence-based road safety interventions designed to strengthen road safety policies and their implementation.
The Global Road Safety Leadership Course (GRSLC) is a suite of courses developed to build leadership capacity to design, advocate for, and implement effective road safety programs and policies. More than 1000 passionate road safety professionals from more than 75 low- and middle-income countries have been trained via the GRSLC.
